Short Segments, Tiny Clicks and Snapping While Drawing
Boon keeps every segment you draw, however short. It only ignores input that is effectively zero length. A short segment in a run (for example a short return leg) is a real, measured segment, not a "stray click".
What Boon ignores while drawing
- Duplicate points: on a line or area, a new point placed on top of the previous point (within a fraction of a point on the PDF) is ignored.
- Tiny drags: a rectangle, circle or similar shape dragged only a few screen pixels is cancelled instead of being saved.
- Ruler and calibration: a ruler drag that is essentially a click is ignored; a calibration line must have some length or Boon asks you to draw it again.
Nothing else is removed or merged. If a run has a short segment you didn't intend, delete that measurement and draw it again.
Closing an area
When drawing an area, click close to the first point to close the shape.
Snapping and straight lines
These toggles appear on the bottom toolbar while you measure or use the ruler:
- Ortho Mode (F8): keep lines horizontal or vertical.
- Polar Angle Increment: snap lines to set angle steps.
- Snap to Markup: snap to existing measurements and markups.
Zero-length duct or pipe runs in AI review
AI-generated ductwork and piping can be flagged in review when a run or segment has zero length (its start and end points are identical). That check is for zero length only; short runs are not flagged.
