Open any project or takeoff page.

Click the sparkles Agent icon in the project rail to open Boon Agent.

Boon Agent opens beside your work, and it uses the page you are on as context.

Ask a question in plain language. Here is a real example: which sheets in this project are electrical?

Boon answers right in the panel, with follow-up suggestions you can click.

Boon Agent answers questions about your project and can work with your documents. You can open it next to the drawing on the takeoff canvas, or use the full Chat page.

Open it on the takeoff canvas

  1. Open a project and go to Takeoffs.
  2. Click Agent (sparkles icon, tooltip "Open Boon Agent") in the left rail. The Boon Agent panel opens beside the drawing.
  3. Click Agent again to close it.

Open full chat at the top of the panel continues the same conversation on the full Chat page. If you don't see the Agent button, Boon Agent on the canvas isn't turned on for your account yet.

Open the full Chat page

Click Chat under Agent in the left sidebar. Your past threads are listed on the left; use Search... to find one. If your account has no Projects, this is the page you see after signing in.

Ask a question

  1. Type in the message box ("Ask Boon to level bids, review a spec, or flag a scope gap…").
  2. To include a document, click Attach files (paperclip). PDFs, Word and Excel files, images, CSV and text files are accepted.
  3. Press Enter or click Send.

On a new, empty thread, Things Boon can do for you shows example requests you can click to start from.

What it knows about your page

When you ask from the takeoff canvas panel, Boon Agent is told that you're on takeoff, which sheet is open, whether that sheet has a scale, and which tool is active. A new thread started from the panel is filed under the current project. It doesn't see what you have selected on the canvas, so name the item or area you mean.

Threads

  • New Thread on the Chat page, or New chat in the panel, starts a fresh conversation.
  • Open a thread's menu for Copy link and, on threads you started, Edit thread name.
  • Threads can't be deleted.

Check its answers

Boon Agent can make mistakes. As the message box says: "Boon can make mistakes — verify figures against the source documents." Check quantities and prices against your drawings and estimate before you rely on them.
