Logging In and Opening a Project

To get started, go to app.getboon.ai and sign in with your email and password.

You land on the Projects page.

Click My projects to see just the projects you created.

Type in the search box to find a project by name.

Click the project to open it. It opens on the Takeoffs tab.

Choose Overview. Project Files holds your folders, and Plans has the drawings.

Back on the Takeoffs tab, each drawing is ready to work on.

You sign in to Boon at app.getboon.ai with your email address and password. From there you open a project from the Projects list.

Sign in

  1. Go to app.getboon.ai. The page is titled "Sign in to Boon".
  2. Enter your Email Address and Password.
  3. Click Login.

Boon remembers your sign-in in that browser, so you usually won't see this page again until you log out.

If you followed a link to a Boon page while signed out, you land back on that page after signing in. Otherwise you land on Projects, or on the agent Chat if your account doesn't have Projects.

Forgot your password

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot Password?.
  2. Enter your Email Address and click Request Password Reset.
  3. Boon confirms: "Got it! Please check your email for instructions on how to reset your password." Follow the link in that email to choose a new password, then sign in again.

Find a project

Projects in the left sidebar opens the projects list. Each project is one row with its name and status.

  • Type in Search by project name or creator... to narrow the list.
  • All projects shows your organization's projects; My projects shows only the ones you created.
  • Status filters by Active, Bidding, Won, Lost, On Hold or Archived.
  • The sort menu orders by Created latest, Created oldest, Updated latest or Updated oldest.

To start a new one, click New project.

If Projects is greyed out in the sidebar with "Projects unlock after your takeoff session with the Boon team", Projects hasn't been turned on for your organization yet.

Open a project

Click anywhere on the project's row. There is no separate Open button.

  • A project that already has drawings opens on Takeoffs.
  • A new project with no drawings yet opens where you upload files.

What's inside a project

The tabs along the top switch between the parts of the project, for example Overview, Takeoffs and Estimates. Some tabs only appear if your account has them.

Overview holds the project's Files section, with folders such as Plans and Specs. Use Add there to upload drawings, and Go to Takeoff → once the first page has finished processing. Takeoffs stays greyed out ("Upload plans to start a takeoff") until the project has plans.
