Labor Rates and Crew Rate Tables
Quick path
- Overhead
- Direct Labor
- Overhead
- Indirect Labor
Labor rates for an estimate are set in the Overhead panel. The labor tabs calculate separate direct and indirect labor totals from the estimate's hours and the blended crew rate; they do not set each line's rate (see "Rates on individual lines" below).
Open the labor rate tabs
- Open the estimate.
- On the right rail, click Overhead (tooltip "Show Overhead").
- Pick the Direct Labor or Indirect Labor tab. The panel also has Fees, Subcontractor Quotes and Material Quotes tabs.
If you only see Fees and no labor tabs, labor rate tables aren't turned on for your account.

Set up a crew and its rates
Each row is one labor type. Fill in:
- Labor Type and Crew (how many of that type).
- Base Rate $, Burden % and Fringe $.
Full Rate is the fully burdened hourly rate: Base Rate × (1 + Burden %) + Fringe $. Hours are split across labor types by crew count.
Save and reuse a crew as a template
- Click "Save current crew as template" and name it.
- Pick a saved template from the template dropdown (default "No template") on another estimate.
- "Reset to template state" undoes changes made since applying the template.
Rates on individual lines
In the estimate grid, the Labor column group has a rate column per labor type, which you can edit on a single line.
